Terms and conditions for the calligraphy contest.
Calligraphy - Definition means 'Beautiful Handwriting'. Therefore, only handwritten works will be considered for the competition. Drawing styles with pencil drawing and colour fill are not considered.
There is no requirement to have a traditional 'bamboo pen' for writing calligraphy. Any type of pen or marker can be used.
Writing must be in 'black' color only. Any color can be used, fountain ink or acrylic.
Scale, pencil, eraser etc. are allowed in competition.
Programme Committee will provide A3 size art paper for writing the competition, other writing materials should be brought by the contestants.
There are more than hundred different styles in 'Arabic calligraphy'. Among them are the classical styles Sulus, Naskh, Diwani,Ruq’ah ,Kufi, Muhaqqaq, Raihani, Tawqi, etc., as well as the Persian styles Nastaliq, Shekasta and its variants Moalla, Kerishma,Sunbuli etc all those scripts have specific rules and terms of writing. Competitors can write in whatever style they have practiced, or in their own freestyle of their own hands.
